• Detailed Appearance

  A being of supreme beauty and elegance, per her fae-blood, Alyson possesses snow white curls that are kept neat and trimmed about mid-back. Standard for her hair style is two small braids kept together with a tie of blue fabric with the rest of the pristine curls allowed to hang freely. She is modestly tall at five foot seven inches and dons the cloth appropriate of her station in the courts. Regal dresses of complimentary colors for both House Liam and House Scathach. Aly still wears the beautiful diamond-studded wedding band with its sapphire rose emblazoned in the center of the crystal-clear stone. Her high cheekbones, delicately curved lips, comely shoulders and effeminate bust and hips mark her as a stunning woman to the eye. Angelic appearance is only amplified by the addition of snow-white dove-shaped wings that are typically folded neatly against her back, incapable of flight.
  
  Her speech is quite refined, suggesting life amongst nobles, which was true considering her outright royal appearance. She had just a faint gaelic accent. Unlike most fae, however, Alyson's nature implied gentility. She was not a trickster even if she enjoyed practical jokes, though could not successfully perform such. A lover of music and dance, it is clear the duchess holds in high regards entertainers of most sorts.

  Glamour Sight

  Fae may see glamour in action and sense its presence whenever it is used. However, if they are in Elsewhere it is a little dulled since they are surrounded in it. [1/1]

  
  

  Quick-footed

  Being only half-fae, Aly isn't able to move as lightning-quick as her full blooded counterparts, but when in a situation that requires it, she can move markedly faster (in short bursts) than others would expect of the slight woman.

  Likewise to her speed, she has a stronger-than-average lift/pull/strike/grasp ability. Non-combative most of the time, she is capable of delivering bone-bruising blows if she feels threatened enough.

  
  
  

  Heightened Senses

  Maybe twice what the average human would be capable of; she sees better in daylight, hears well enough to distinguish individual voices easily in a thick crowd or amongst lots of noise. Does not extend to smell, touch, or taste.

  A skilled archer from ground and horseback, Aly was taught young how to shoot with a bow; a neccessity when living in a city prone to drawing unpleasant people upon the citizens. She can shoot accurately within 200 yards in daylight.

  Alyson has turned her hobby of stitching and sewing into a fine craft of trade where her products can be sold in Mullachgarbh. Her shop is known in the village as The Dove's Eye and most in the mead-village recognize it as the go-to shop for clothing repairs and replacements.

  Note on Glamour

  Any fae may weave glamour, though the various types of glamour magic vary depending on what House the fae is from. Any fae may create basic illusions. Alyson, however, struggles with anything beyond simple weaves such as changing the color of her hair or clothing or skin, illusioning small items into exsistance, etc. etc. More drastic spells could result in disasterous effects, up to and including death to either herself or the target, intended or not.

  
  
  

  Stepping

  An ability all full blooded and most half-blooded fae possess that enables them to "Step" between locations. A form of teleportation through the bending of the glamour within them, she would quite literally take a step and turn to travel. However, Aly's weakness in the use of her races magic makes such forms of travel extremely difficult and oft results in unpleasant problems.

  
  
  

  Prophetic

  The downside of being a daughter to the Patriarch of the House of Prophets is her ability to foresee events. Thankfully, these are confined to familial situations such as a birth or death in the family, trauma to those closest to her, an uplifting event in the near or distant future. She cannot foresee things in others futures unless they have been somehow bonded to her.

  Iron Poisoning

  Fae are unable to handle raw or wrought iron (dietary iron isn't a problem). Exposure to iron results in infection, weakness, and eventually death if it is untreated.

  
  
  

  Oath Bound

  Once an oath is given or a promise is made, the fae is bound to uphold their end of the bargain. However, keep in mind that they are only obligated to uphold the letter of the agreement, not the spirit.

  
  
  

  True Name

  All fae possess a Truename, if someone learns the truename of a fae they have an extreme amount of control over them. This control may not be broken by anything short of the death or muting of the one that has the Truename.

  
  
  

  Inability to Lie

  Fae are unable to knowingly tell a “true” lie. They may mislead, omit, or otherwise twist the truth but they cannot knowingly tell a direct untruth. Half fae may lie, though it is well known that it is extremely unpleasant for them and often they are incapable of doing it without being obvious. Note that this does not prohibit sarcasm or joking.

  
  
  

  Unlucky

  Aly's always had a knack for drawing bad fortune to her and those around her. From strange happenings, to losing special items, to even getting into more than trouble; she just can't seem to evade it.

  
  
  

  Healing Note

  Being part Fae prevents Aly from being healed by alternate supernatural means. Traditional and horticultural methods as well as glamour-methods work fine, but other typical "magics" just don't work and often interrupt the flow of glamour in her

  
  
  

  Prophecy

  With the "strength" of being a prophet comes the downfalls, too. Aly suffers greatly when such foresights occur. It is almost as bad to watch as it is to experience. Nerves are set on fire and muscles cramp, a massive migraine nearly blinds and deafens in prelude to the actual foretelling. When it finally does occur, she is thrown into a Grand Mal seizure that leaves her prone and weakened immediately after. The headache prior can last anywhere from hours to days before the actual event, but typically recedes within 12 hours, leaving only a dull ache for a few days after that. Because of the predictability of the foretellings, Aly is at least able to prepare and put herself into a position that will lessen the trauma and reduce the risk of something unpleasant happening while she's in the state.

  
  
  

  Flightless

  She may have wings, but she sure can't fly. The muscles never developed well enough to support even her slight frame when airborne.

  
  
  

  Nightmares

  Alyson suffers from severe nightmares. This is in-part due to her prophetic ability, her dreams often filled with hellish scenes of the past or future, within and outside her lifetime. It makes getting a good nights sleep difficult and common. When it becomes intolerable, she resorts to sleeping near her mount, Dante (see notes)

  Wedding band: One of very few things that survived the flight from her home and serves as a reminder to her of the loved ones she lost.
